Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: a) On or about September 13, 2022 at jobsite 1555 Cottage Drive, Pingree Grove, Illinois, employees were exposed to falls of approximately 20.4 feet or more above ground level while engaged in residential construction activities. Fall protection was on site but was not being utilized while installing solar panels.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer failed to provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) On or about September 13, 2022 at jobsite 1555 Cottage Drive, Pingree Grove, Illinois, employees were exposed to fall hazards while installing solar panels on a residential roof. The employer did not provide a training program to recognize fall hazards and the procedure to be followed in order to minimize those hazards. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
