29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3):Abrasive wheels used on vertical portable grinder(s) (right angle head grinders) were not provided with safety guard(s) having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel: a) 4 Kinney Rd, Manalapan, NJ - The employer did not ensure the employee operating a Makita Angler Grinder, Model #GA4542C, 11,000 rpm max, was equipped with a safety guard thus exposing the employee to amputation and laceration hazards. An employee working for the company suffered severe injury when the angle grinder he was operating was not equipped with a safety guard, kicked back off the work and the rotating wheel of the angle grinder struck the employee on his left arm. This condition noted on or about September 16, 2022.
