29 CFR 1926.602(c)(1)(vii): Unauthorized persons were allowed to ride on a powered industrial truck. Note: 1926.602(a)(1): These rules apply to the following types of earthmoving equipment: scrapers, loaders, crawler or wheel tractors, bulldozers, off-highway trucks, graders, agricultural and industrial tractors, and similar equipment. On or about September 19, 2022, on the north side of the site, an employee was riding on the outside step (operator side) without taking appropriate safety measures. Riding a back-hoe while standing on the outside step exposes the employee to crush-by and struck by hazards.
