29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Worksite: 3000 West Orange Avenue, Apopka, FL: The point of operation on the UPS-A-Daisy Punch Press (Press #14) was not guarded to protect employees while in the process of punching holes in base plates. On or about September 14, 2022, an employee was operating the UPS-A-Daisy Punch Press (Press #14) when the machine activated while their hands were at the point of operation, resulting in the employee receiving a serious hand injury.
