29 CFR 1910.304(b)(4)(ii)(B): Where connected to a branch circuit supplying two or more receptacles or outlets, a receptacle supplied a total cord- and plug-connected load in excess of the maximum specified in Table S-4. A) In the break room of the postal facility, there was a power strip with 15 amp outlets that was plugged into a 15 amp wall outlet. There was a 900 watt (7.5 amp) toaster, and a 1470 watt (12.25 amp) Keurig coffee maker potentially running a 19 amp load through outlets that were rated for a maximum of 15 amps. This could result in overheating of the fixtures and cause a fire.
