29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11):"Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about 10/14/2022, at the Firestone Service Center, located at 6480 Brockport Spencerport Road, in Brockport, New York, the employer did not enforce the use of fall protection. Employees were allowed to remove roofing materials (tear-off) 18 feet above lower levels with a roof pitch of 5-12 without the use of fall protection. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
