29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladder(s) were used for purposes other than the purpose for which they were designed:    a) On or about October 24, 2022, a 12-foot stepladder was used for access and egress purposes.  b) on or about October 24, 2022, a 12-foot stepladder was used without its metal spreaders or locking devices in the open position.   No abatement certification or documentation required for this violation.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b):    a) On or about October 24, 2022, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 12 feet while performing carpentry work from a second story deck without fall protection.   Basswood Construction Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1580214, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on April 7, 2022, with respect to a worksite located at 3103-3109 Anna Marie Lane, Naperville, Illinois.   Basswood Construction Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1571130, citation 2, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on January 27, 2022, with respect to a worksite located at 100 Chicago Ave., Evanston, Illinois.   Basswood Construction Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1518449, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on May 14, 2021, with respect to a worksite located at 5627 Childs, Hinsdale, Illinois.   No abatement certification or documentation required for this violation.
