29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i)(A): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by a standard guardrail system: (a) On or about October 21, 2022 - Platform near UNL9-1, an employee was exposed to fall hazards of up to approximately 83 inches when there was no guardrail above the package chute located in an opening in the guardrails.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent: (a) On or about October 21, 2022 - Package sorting area, employees were exposed to fire hazards when there were no directional exit signs indicating the path to the exit that required employees to climb a ladder to cross over a conveyor to get to the exit. United Parcel Service, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1383540, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/30/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 410 Reading Crest Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.
