29 CFR 1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4 The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment. (a) Janitors Supply Room: On or before October 26, 2022, employees handled corrosive chemicals such as Spartan Biorenewables restroom cleaner where an emergency eye wash station in close proximity for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes was missing. The employer had not provided an eye wash station in the immediate vicinity resulting in the employees being potentially exposed to severe eye damage or blindness.
