29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Protection was not provided by placing and keeping excavated or other materials or equipment at least 2 feet (.61m) from the edge of excavations, or by the use of retaining devices that were sufficient to prevent materials or equipment from falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: a) In the trench, located near 132 Charles Lane, Pooler, GA 31322, on or about October 28, 2022, the employer exposed employees to struck-by and caught under hazards, in that the employer directed and allowed employees to work in a trench where the excavated soil was less than 2 feet from the edge of the trench. b) In the trench, located near 132 Charles Lane, Pooler, GA 31322, on or about October 28, 2022, the employer exposed employees to struck-by and caught under hazards, in that the employer directed and allowed employees to work in a trench where an excavator was being operated with the excavator's tracks over the edge of the trench.
