29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees: (a) On or about November 1, 2022, at or near the location of the corner of Second Avenue and Main Street in Coleharbor, ND employees installing a water line in a trench measuring 9.2 feet deep did not have an adequate means of egress where an employee was unable to exit the trench unhindered. Note: This company was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1441332, Citation 1, Item 1a, and was affirmed as a final order on March 18, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 3000 South Broadway in Minot, ND.
