29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one-fourth inch:  Lassen Volcanic National Park, Headquarters, Building 23, Auto shop: The Wissota 6 inch bench grinder (Model E33M) left tongue guard was not adjusted to 1/4 of an inch. The tongue guard opening measured 1 1/4 of an inch. Employees were exposed to face, body and mid-section injuries.

The U.S. Dept. of Interior, National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1515054, citation number 02, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 05/27/2021, with respect to a workplace located at Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Red Fir Facility, 64600 Generals Highway, Three Rivers, CA 93271.
