29 CFR  1910.36(d)(1):   Employees must be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside is permitted on exit discharge doors:  Employee(s) accessing merchandise inside the electronic stockroom located at 8101 W. 151st, Overland Park, Kansas were exposed to fire hazards caused by the door to the electronic stockroom only opening from the outside with a key.  The electronic stockroom door has a locking mechanism that can be locked from the outside inadvertently resulting in the person working inside the electronic stockroom to be trapped in the event of a fire emergency.
