29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person(s). Site: 840 Middle Country Rd. Nesconset, N.Y. Building-north wall. a) On or about November 3, 2022, employees were dismantling a masonry wall from lifts. The employer did not conduct an inspection of the wall by a competent person prior to the wall being demolished. A total of six (6) employees sustained injuries when the wall collapsed. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
