29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Location: Testing room, 5 Richardson Lane, Stoneham. a) On or about 11/8/22, employees were exposed to struck by injuries on a hydraulic press that did not have a guard to deflect chips from the concrete cylinder breaking process. A bucket was used to make a guard, however, employees could be contacted by the bucket or pieces of concrete that are ejected out of the machine outside of the coverage of the bucket.
