29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Press Room - Employees operating the Timson T48A Press were exposed to amputation hazards in that ingoing nip points were not guarded, on or about November 8, 2022. (b) Press Room - Employees operating the Hantscho 701 Press were exposed to amputation hazards in that ingoing nip points were not guarded, on or about November 8, 2022. (c) Press Room - Employees operating the MegTec 1500 Roll Presses were exposed to amputation hazards in that ingoing nip points were not guarded, on or about November 8, 2022. (d) Press Room - Employees operating the Civiemme Stacker were exposed to amputation hazards in that the points of operation were not guarded, on or about November 8, 2022. P.A. Hutchison Company was previously cited for a violation of a substantially similar occupational safety and health standard, 1910.212(a)(3)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1566269, citation number one, item number one and was affirmed as a final order on April 25, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 400 Penn Avenue, Mayfield, PA 18433. Abatement Certification and Documentation Required.
