29 CFR  1910.303(g)(1):Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. Occurrences of this violation are detailed below.   1). Located at the North Operations Center (NOC) of Redwood National Park, in the upstairs storage area of the vehicle bay (room 130), a PV Powered brand 600-VDC photovoltaic inverter, S/N *PV0300BACA0310090143*, was obstructed by a pallet of equipment from the road crew.  2). Located in the electrical mechanical room (room 116) of the NOC,  a General Electric heavy duty safety switch was obstructed by HVAC air filters.   Employees are exposed to an electrical hazard that could result in smoke inhalation or burns.

29 CFR  1910.157(e)(3):Portable fire extinguishers were not subjected to an annual maintenance check. Located in the Vehicle Bay Room 130 of the North Operations Center, one fire extinguisher did not have an up-to-date annual inspection tag. A fire extinguisher was located next to an exit door on the floor with the most recent inspection marking indicating it was last inspected in 2016. Employees are exposed to a fire hazard that could result in burns or smoke inhalation.

29 CFR  1910.253(b)(4)(iii): Oxygen cylinders in storage were not separated from fuel gas cylinders or combustible materials (especially oil or grease), a minimum distance of 20 feet (6.1 m) or by a noncombustible barrier at least 5 feet (1.5 m) high having a fire resistant rating of at least one-half hour.   1). Located in the Vehicle Bay (room 130) in the truck bed of the industrial truck equipped with the Venturo crane (NPS #NP8000130125), an oxygen cylinder was stored next to an acetylene cylinder in the front of the truck on the right hand side.

29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.   1). Located in the Vehicle Bay, Room 130, a Sunex-HD 20 Ton Air/Hydraulic Shop Press, Model 5720AH, did not have a guard at the point of operation.  2). Located in the Electrical and Water Utilities room, a Ryobi DP121L drill press did not have a machine guard at the point of operation.   Employees are exposed to machine hazards that  could result in amputation, broken bones, or injuries from flying objects.
