29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  Line 1 drop belt machine guarding was insufficient in that it allowed employee to reach into the space between two metal sheets and expose themselves to nip point and rotating part hazards. This allowed the employees hand to reach in between the metal sheets which resulted in the employees hand get caught in the Line #1 transfer belt , which then moved employee hand past a stationary device causing amputation of tips of right hand ring and index fingers.  The Tyson Foods company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1437181, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 3/13/2020, with respect to a workplace located at Tyson Foods dba Tyson Mexican Originals, 2615 S. School Avenue, Fayetteville, AR, 72701.
