29 CFR 1910.176(b): Secure storage. Storage of material shall not create a hazard. Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse: a) TJ Maxx Backrooms; On or about November 14, 2022, and times prior the employer exposed employees to crush and struck-by hazards in that the employer did not ensure material stored in the back room is stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited height to limit employee exposure to material collapse. The TJX Companies, Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1525974, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on May 27, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 461 Route 10 East, Ledgewood, NJ 07852.
