OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees to employees in that employees were exposed serious injuries or death from improper use of the circular saw: JOBSITE/101 COLLEGE STREET, NEW HAVEN, CT: On/or about 11/28/2022, the employer did not ensure through conducting onsite job briefings; visual hazard assessment(s); providing employees with specific and step-by-step procedures, methods and other relevant topics prior to commencing tasks, such as (but not limited to) safely using a Milwaukee M18 TM FUEL TM 7-1/4-nch circular saw to cut lumber in that: On or about 11/28/2022, an employee used the saw to cut off an overhanging piece of 2" x 4" on a guardrail around the elevator shaft. The injured employee sustained serious injuries including a fingertip amputation.
