29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: US Department of Veterans Affairs, 3525 West Cheyenne Avenue, North Las Vegas, Nevada: On or about December 1, 2022, the employer failed to install relocatable power taps/power strips in accordance with the manufacture's recommendations. Power strips used to supply 110-120 volts to computer peripherals at two workstations in room 151 were series-connected to other power strips, and thus potentially exposed employees who operated the equipment and those working in the immediate vicinity to electrical and/or fire hazards. Notice 1, Item 2, 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): The employer failed to use or install listed or labeled electrical equipment in accordance with the instructions included in the listing or labeling. The employer was cited for a violation of the same standard and similar hazard on September 17, 2020, Inspection 1490891, date October 28, 2020, of final order, and means of abatement.
