Employees engaged in fabrication activities were exposed to struck-by hazards in that the employer failed to ensure that the synthetic rope slings had markings to show rated capacities of the slings at the Gaffy five ton hoist.

29 CFR 1910.244(a)(2)(iii):Loads were not cribbed, blocked or otherwise secured immediately after being raised: The employer failed to protect employees from struck-by and crushing hazards. This was most recently documented on or about December 2, 2022 at Battenfeld-Cincinnati USA, located at 823 S Bypass Rd. McPherson, Kansas. In the Soilex 90 extruder assembly area, employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards in that the Soilex 90 extruder platform was not protected from falling when the leveling foot failed. This resulted in the platform falling and striking and crushing an employees forearm.
