29 CFR 1910.138(a):The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. (a) Back Stockroom: On or about December 8, 2022, and at times prior thereto, employees were not provided hand protection while performing work related to the CRAM-A-Lot vertical baler, where employees were tying bales with iron wires with their hands, exposing them to laceration hazards.

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. On or about 12/6/2022, an employee of Walgreen's store #10099, was not provided with adequate instructions on how to use "manual mode" safely to eject a bale from the Cram-A-Lot (Model VB-42-SR) vertical stockroom baler. Feasible means of abatement include performing re-training to all employees operating the balers regarding how to safely prepare and eject a bale from stockroom balers.
