29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about December 9th, 2023: a. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a LeBlond brand manual lathe identified by the employer as BAIS 130 without a guard to cover the rotating chuck. b. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a LeBlond brand manual lathe identified by the employer as BAIS 364 without a guard to cover the rotating chuck. c. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a Yamazaki Machinery Works brand manual lathe identified by the employer as BAIS 167 without a guard to cover the rotating chuck. d. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a Yamazaki Machinery Works brand manual lathe identified by the employer as BAIS 726 without a guard to cover the rotating chuck. e. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a Okuma Machinery Works brand manual lathe identified by the employer as BAIS 303 without a guard to cover the rotating chuck. f. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a Monarch Machine Tool brand manual lathe identified by the employer by it's brand name without a guard to cover the rotating chuck. g. In the manual machine area, employees were exposed to caught-by hazards while using a Hwacheon brand manual lathe identified by the employer as BAIS 321 without a guard to cover the rotating chuck.
