29 CFR 1910.1053(c): The employer did not ensure that no employee was exposed to an airborne concentration of respirable crystalline silica in excess of 50 mcg/m3 calculated as a time-weighted average. a) Spring City Electrical Manufacturing Company located at 1 South Main Street, Spring City, PA 19475 - Grinding Area: The employer did not ensure that employees were not exposed to an airborne concentrations of respirable crystalline silica in excess of 50 micrograms per cubic meter (�g/m3) calculated as a time-weighted average (TWA). Employees were exposed to respirable crystalline silica at an 8-hour TWA of 72.26, 56.99, and 54.82�g/m3 during occupational exposures of 385, 384 and 362 minutes, respectively . Employees were utilizing sandblasters, torches and grinders to remove sand and metals from light poles and were 1.45, 1.14 and 1.09 respectively above the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 �g/m3. Violation noted on May 16, 2023

Employees were exposed to respirable crystalline silica at an 8-hour TWA of 72.26, 56.99, and 54.82 �g/m3 during occupational exposures of 385, 384 and 362 minutes, respectively. Silica dust was generated and accumulated on the floor from the process of grinding the metal pole.
