29 CFR 1910.242(a): Hand and portable powered tools or equipment were not kept in safe condition: a. On or about December 16, 2022, in the vehicle rack area, an employee handling a power tool was exposed to amputation hazards when a Super Shear hydraulic catalytic cutting tool that activated itself. The employer failed to ensure that the tool was in a safe condition before the employee began operation. LKQ Pick Your Part was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.242(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1545033 , citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 30, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 451 Benoist Farms Road West Palm Beach, FL 33411.
