1910.178(q)(1) Any power-operated industrial truck not in safe operating condition shall be removed from service. All repairs shall be made by authorized personnel. 29 CFR 1910.178(q)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s): On the Main Dock, employee(s) engaged in material handling activities while operating 2 forklifts were exposed to struck by and crush by hazards in that the wheels on the 2 forklifts were found to be in disrepair with several cracks, fissures, pieces missing, and separation of the tire from the metal rims. The forklifts with tires in disrepair were as follows: 1. Make: Toyota; Model: 8FGCU20; Serial No:78559; ID#: FL10767. 2. Make: Toyota; Model: 8FGCU20; Serial No: 78534; ID#: FL10768.
