29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   At the worksite located at 4647 West Junction Street, Springfield MO, employees were exposed to rotating parts when one or more methods of machine guarding was not provided on a LeBlonde Lathe during the polishing/sanding process. This process allowed employees to hold strips of sandpaper by hand to remove material and polish rotating parts. This resulted in hospitalization of employee when the sandpaper caught one of the cooling fins on the shaft causing the employees hand and arms to come into contact with the rotating part. This was documented on or about 12-30-2022.
