29 CFR 1926.652(c)(2)(i): Design of support systems, shield systems, or other protective systems that are drawn from manufacturer's tabulated data were not in accordance with all specifications, recommendations, and limitations issued or made by the manufacturer: a) On January 11, 2023, employees were exposed to cave in hazards while working in a trench measured at approximately 7 feet in depth. The employer did not install hydraulic shoring per tabulated data. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.

The Kloepfer Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652(c)(3)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1390124, citation number 1, item number 1-b and was affirmed as a final order on May 10, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 700 North River Road Desplaines, IL. 60016
