Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.251(e)(8):Synthetic web slings were not immediately removed from service if any of the following conditions specified in 1926.251(e)(8)(i) through (e)(8)(v) were present: (i) Acid or caustic burns; (ii) Melting or charring of any part of the sling surface; (iii) snags, punctures, tears, or cuts; (iv) broken or worn stitches; or (v) distortion of fittings. a) 9446 Letzburg Road, Greencastle, PA - Landfill - The employer did not remove multiple synthetic web slings/straps immediately from service after visible damages such as but not limited to snags, tears, cuts, wore stitches and broken webbing, on or about January 13, 2023. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.251(e)(2):Rated capacity was exceeded. a) 9446 Letzburg Road, Greencastle, PA - Landfill - An employee was trying to manipulate a 24-inch diameter High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe measuring 93 feet long as it was being positioned toward the fuse machine, when the polyester single ply endless sling snapped landing on employee. The sling was not rated for the weight of the pipe, on or about January 13, 2023. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
