29 CFR 1926.652(e)(2)(i): Excavation of material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of the members of the support system was allowed when there were indications while the trench was open of a possible loss of soil from behind or below the bottom of the support system: On or about January 19, 2023, at an excavation site located at 14137 Broadway Extension in Edmond, OK, an employee was observed working in an excavation where the bottom of protective system was elevated more than two feet above the excavation floor. The employee was exposed to struck-by hazards. H & H Plumbing and Utility was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.652(e)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1481576, citation number 1, item number 1.
