29 CFR 1910.252(a)(2)(iv): Cutting or welding was permitted in areas before the areas were inspected by the individual responsible for authorizing cutting and welding operations: a) Worksite, 1204 Kings Rd, Albany, New York, Shop Bay: On or about January 20, 2023, an employee was exposed to fire hazards while cutting rebar using a Dewalt cut-off saw with an oil waste drum and other combustible materials in the area. The employer did not have designate precautions in place for granting a written permit prior to conducting cutting work.
