On or about January 25, 2023, at a residential construction site located on 24623 Porte Borsari Dr. in Katy, TX, employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 6 feet while performing roofing work on the roof of a two-story house without the use a fall protection system.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed. On or about January 25, 2023, at a residential construction site located on 24623 Porte Borsari Dr. in Katy, TX, employees were exposed to a fall hazard when using an extension ladder to access the roof without the side rails at least three feet above the roof landing.
