Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to caught in hazards during camshaft sanding/polishing.    On or about February 8, 2023, employees were operating QPAC #266 and #270 engine lathes to sand and polish the rotating camshafts. Employees were exposed to caught-in hazards likely to result in serious injuries due to entanglement of their extremities, clothing, or hair, on the irregular periphery of the camshaft (i.e. holes, keys, lobes). A pinch point also existed where the handheld sand paper could get pulled and wrapped around itself on the rotating camshaft.
