29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special hand tools for placing and removing material(s) was not provided to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone: On or about January 12, 2023, and at times prior thereto, where employee(s) operated a Grizzly 18" cut off saw and place their hands and arms into the point of operation area to place and remove cut pieces of wood. The guard placed on the machine was not guarded on the ends based on the manufacturer provided guarding, exposing employees to amputation hazards reaching under guard to remove cut material.

29 CFR 1910.213(d)(1): Circular handfed crosscut table saw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut: On or about January 12, 2023, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure the Grizzly, model GO502, 18" cut off saw was guarded to prevent employees from placing their hands into the point of operation to retrieve pieces of material, exposing the employees to amputation hazards. Buffalo Creek Millwork, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.213(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1328610, Citation Number 1, Item number 3, and was affirmed as a final order on August 27, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 509 N I-35 East, Waxahachie, TX 75165.
