29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) Schacht Spindle Company, 6101 Ben Place, Boulder, CO 80301: On or about February 14, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to ingoing nip points, rotating parts, and flying chips from the unguarded drum sander.  The employer failed to utilize adequate guarding to protect employees from nip points, rotating parts, and flying chips.

29 CFR  1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure:  a) Schacht Spindle Company, 6101 Ben Place, Boulder, CO 80301: On or about February 14, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to electrical shock and fire hazards while using a flexible cord as a substitute for fixed wiring to permanently power equipment such as but not limited to the drum sander.
