29 CFR 1910.253(b)(4)(iii): Oxygen cylinders in storage were not separated from fuel-gas cylinders or combustible materials (especially oil or grease), a minimum distance of 20 feet (6.1m) or by a noncombustible barrier at least 5 feet (1.5m) high having a fire-resistance rating of at least one-half hour: On February 14, 2023, and times prior, inside the gas storage building located at 10900 Lambert International Blvd in Bridgeton, Missouri. The employer did not ensure that stored oxygen and acetylene cylinders were separated by a distance of 20 feet or a barrier of at least 5 feet high with a fire-resistance rating of one-half hour. The fuel-gas cylinders were stored within approximately 10 feet of oxygen cylinders. Employees working in the gas storage area loading/unloading cylinders onto vendor trucks, replacing LPG tanks on powered industrial trucks, and procuring tanks to use for aviation maintenance were exposed to fire hazards.
