29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees were not protected by protective helmets while working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns: On or about February 14, 2023, employees were not wearing a protective helmet where there was a possible danger of head injury from falling objects. Employees were engaged in roofing installation activities in upper level carrying roofing material, exposing the employees to struck-by hazards from falling objects. Employees in ground level and lower level were not wearing a safety hard hats. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. On or about February 14, 2023, employees engaged in residential roofing operations were exposed to eye injury hazards while operating pneumatic nail guns without eye protection. Employer did not ensure that employees that were engaged in framing activities utilizing pneumatic guns were utilizing safety glasses. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: On or about February 14, 2023 Employees were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 20 feet while engaged in residential roofing activities. Fall protection was not being utilized while employees were engaged in roof installation activities. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
