1926.451(g)(4)(xv) Crossbracing is acceptable in place of a midrail when the crossing point of two braces is between 20 inches (0.5 m) and 30 inches (0.8 m) above the work platform or as a toprail when the crossing point of two braces is between 38 inches (0.97 m) and 48 inches (1.3 m) above the work platform. The end points at each upright shall be no more than 48 inches (1.3 m) apart. 29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Employees on scaffolds more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level were not protected from falling to that lower level by fall protection established in paragraphs (g)(1)(i)-(vii) of this section: (a) Jobsite: On or about February 17, 2022, two employees were not protected from falling from the tubular welded frame scaffold. One employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 40 feet to the ground and the other employee was exposed to a fall hazard of about 26 feet to the ground. In both cases the top guardrail was missing.
