29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a) Building 9, Forged Circle, Hopewell, NJ: An employee was observed disconnecting from fall protection and walking on the rooftop to perform duties. The employee gathered trash and material to disposed over the edge of the rooftop. The employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 35 feet to the ground below. Observed on or about 03/01/2023  b) Building 9, Forged Circle, Hopewell, NJ: An employee was observed working on the crest of the rooftop when he disconnected to perform additional duties. The employee worked to open a bundle of roofing material a few feet away. Employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 40 feet to the ground below. Observed on or about 03/01/2023  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
