29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2):Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of iron oxide listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 10 mg/m3: (a) Welding Area: on February 28th, 2023 the employer did not ensure that employee exposure to iron oxide fume did not exceed 10 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) of air, as an 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA). Welders were exposed to iron oxide fume at an 8-hour TWA of 10.28 mg/m3 of air, approximately 1.02 times the permissible exposure limit of 10 mg/m3. (b) Welding Area: on February 28th, 2023 the employer did not ensure that employee exposure to iron oxide fume did not exceed 10 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3) of air, as an 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA). Welders were exposed to iron oxide fume at an 8-hour TWA of 15.63 mg/m3 of air, approximately 1.6 times the permissible exposure limit of 10 mg/m3.
