OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees.    On or about March 1, 2023, and at times prior thereto in the Welding and Fitting production areas, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards in the following instances (a-c):   a) At the Fit-up Welding Station - the JLC Coffing 1 Ton Hoist hook was missing its intended safety latch;  b) At the Fab Production Saw Area Harrington 2 Ton Jib Crane, an alloy chain sling was missing its intended safety latch; and c) At the Fab Production Area - the JLC Coffing 1 Ton Hoist, an alloy chain sling was missing its intended safety latch.

Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment.  On or about March 1, 2023, and at times prior thereto, in the Fitting and Welding Areas, compressed air nozzles used for cleaning were not reduced to 30 P.S.I or less when used for cleaning purposes.
