29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) a) At Building 703, on or about February 28, 2022 and at time prior to, employees who were drilling holes into concrete were not informed about measures employees could take to protect themselves from exposure to respirable crystalline silica including but not limited to: 1. Use drill equipped with commercially available shroud or cowling with dust collection system; 2. Operate and maintain tool in accordance with manufacturer's instructions to minimize dust emissions; 3. Ensure dust collector provides the air flow recommended by the tool manufacturer, or greater, and have a filter with 99% or greater efficiency and a filter-cleaning mechanism; and 4. Use a HEPA-filtered vacuum when cleaning holes
