29 CFR  1903.19(c)(1):  The employer did not certify to OSHA, within 10 calendar days after the abatement date, that the cited violation had been abated:   Corner Construction Corp., failed to certify to OSHA within 10 calendar days after the abatement date that each of the following cited violations had been corrected:   Citation 1, Item 1, 1926.501(b)(13)  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  a) On March 15, 2023, employees engaged in roofing work were not protected from fall hazards while working at an elevation of approximately 12.2 feet above the ground.   Corner Construction Corp was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1615431, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on January 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 422 W Russell St., Barrington, IL 60010.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1):Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access:  a) On October 13, 2022, ladders used by employees to gain access to the working surface did not have side rails extended at least 3 feet above the surface.  Corner Construction Corp was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1615431, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on January 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 422 W Russell St., Barrington, IL 60010.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
