Location at or around 1963 Drury Lane Columbus, Ohio: On or about March 15, 2023, employees were seen working inside a excavation/trench where the employee was exposed to falling objects without wearing any type of protective helmet while replacing a fire hydrant in a residential neighborhood.

29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2):Means of egress from trench excavations. A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress shall be located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees. a. Location at or around 1963 Drury Lane Columbus, Ohio: On or about March 15, 2023, employees were seen inside an excavation that was approximately 6 feet 7 inches deep without any means of egress in place at the time of the inspection. The Conie Construction Company was previously cited under the name Conie Construction Company Inc. for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1926.651(c)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1480609, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 10,2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1060 Legacy Lane, Pataskala, Ohio 43062 .
