29 CFR 1910.36(g)(4):Objects that projected into the exit route reduced the width of the exit route to less than the minimum width requirements for exit routes. a) Production Department; Clam Line 17: On March 20, 2023, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to fire hazards, in that the exit route from the packaging workstation was obstructed to a width of approximately 21 inches by a metal table from which employees would obtain lids for the plastic containers passing through line.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Production Department; Clam Line 15: On March 20, 2023, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that the automated conveyor on the clam line was not guarded at the point where the blue belt meets the head pulleys as employees handle lid plastic containers across the line.
