29 CFR 1910.179(n)(3)(i): The load shall be well secured and properly balanced in the sling or lifting device before it is lifted more than a few inches. On or about February 24, 2023, at a workplace located at N7650 Lake Shore Road, Sheboygan, Wisconsin in the MPC Department; employees operating the OMH & Harrington H6901-1 overhead crane and lifting hoist were exposed to struck-by hazards when a load consisting of sheet material was not properly balanced in the lifting device before it was lifted.

29 CFR 1910.184(c)(9): All employees shall be kept clear of loads about to be lifted and of suspended loads. On or about February 24, 2023, at a workplace located at N7650 Lake Shore Road, Sheboygan, Wisconsin in the MPC Department; employees operating the OMH & Harrington H6901-1 overhead crane were exposed to struck-by hazards when standing in close proximity to a load being raised with the lifting hoist and sheet clamp lifting device.
