29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed: Administrative hallway, west side exit door: On or before March 22, 2023, the exit route for the exit door was blocked by P.O. box mail section, plastic tote, and soft drink packs which prevented employees access in the time of an emergency. Employees were exposed to narrow escape route and fire hazards. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1554245, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on December 18, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service - Walnut Creek, 2070 North Broadway Walnut Creek, CA 94596.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(ii): The required working space about electric equipment rated 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground, was used for storage: Hot case mail sorting area: On or before March 22, 2023, the employer permitted materials to be stored directly in front of the electrical panel. This condition interferes with access and immediate shutdown of a circuit in the panel, particularly in the event of an emergency. This condition exposed employees to electrical and/or fire hazard(s). The United States Postal Services was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1581592, citation number 1, item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on May 12, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at United States Postal Service - Carson, 24760 South Main Street, Carson, California 90754.
