The employer did not ensure that when wet processes are used, drainage is be maintained and, to the extent feasible, dry standing places, such as false floors, platforms, and mats are provided.  BACKROOM: The employer did not ensure the area below the dish washing sink was maintained in a dry condition, exposing employees to slipping hazards.

29 CFR  1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:  DISHWASHING AREA: Employees who were exposed to corrosive chemicals during routine work,  including ClickSan Sanitizer, did not have access to facilities for flushing of the eyes, exposing them to injury from contact.

29 CFR  1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries:  a) BACKROOM: The fire extinguisher was blocked by a shelving unit, exposing employees to fire hazards.   b) BACKROOM: A sign was not installed to identify the location of the fire extinguisher, exposing employees to fire hazards.   Starbucks was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1398335, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/1/2019.
