29 CFR  1926.451(g)(1):Employees on scaffolds more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level were not protected from falling to that lower level by fall protection established in paragraphs (g)(1)(i)-(vii) of this section.  On April 4, 2023, employees worked from a jack scaffold without fall protection systems while installing cornice material on the exterior of a residential home. The employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 12 feet to the ground below.

29 CFR  1926.416(e)(1): Worn or frayed electric cords or cables were used.   On April 4, 2023, employees performing cornice work utilized an extension cord to energize a Makita skill saw and the outer sheathing was split exposing internal wiring. The employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards.

29 CFR  1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards.   On the residential construction site, the employer did not develop or provide fall protection training to the employee engaged in cornice work on how to recognize and eliminate hazards such as fall hazards.
